Jose Mourinho confirms Luke Shaw will play against Young Boys

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed Luke Shaw will play against Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Shaw missed the 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday as a precaution after suffering a head injury while on international duty with England earlier this month.

However, the 23-year-old is set to return to United's starting line-up for the midweek trip to Switzerland at the expense of Ashley Young.

"Luke Shaw plays Wednesday," said Mourinho in his post-match interview at Vicarage Road.

"We can't do it with one left-back and Ashley Young is not just a left-back, he is also a right-back.

"They are both doing well, they are both different players and I think they both understand that one is a young player and the other is the experienced one and it is good for us to have these two options, plus Darmian.

"He is my emergency man, he is always ready for everything."

World Class Manchester United Line-up to beat Watford on Saturday

After another boring international break Manchester United fans will be desperate to see whether their team can continue to demonstrate the positive signs that were abundant in the last game against Burnley.

Manchester United had 21 shots during the game and flooded the opposition penalty area with bodies in a manner that we haven’t seen at United for the last five years.

And even after Marcus Rashford was sent off for his silly petulance Manchester United looked the team more likely to score another goal with Pogba and Lukaku linking brilliantly together up top. Jose Mourinho must make a note of the such positives and use them to his advantage moving forward.

TFF has been one of the Manchester United naysayers over the last couple of years, fearing that another managerial change would be required for the club to turn the corner.

But, even if its not as pretty as the football fo the other clubs, we now feel that Manchester United are about to go on a solid run of winning football games.

And why shouldn’t they with the world class squad that they have in place? Fears over the defence are wildly exaggerated and between Rojo, Jones, Smalling, Bailly and Lindelof United should have more than enough to cope with most opponents.

Further forward there are so many options. Fred needs to prove himself but Marouane Fellaini was excellent in his stead at Burnley. We’d like to see the Brazilian at Watford but sense that Jose might stick with the big Belgian.

And players such as Martial and Mata haven’t even had a sniff this term.

So here is our XI to take the points at high-flying Watford. The big doubt is whether Luke Shaw recovers in time to continue his excellent start to the season. His seven day mandatory rest after a concussion may, sadly, keep him out.

Jose Mourinho doesn't trust Marcus Rashford at Manchester United

Phil Thompson thinks Marcus Rashford's lack of game time at Manchester United is because of Jose Mourinho's lack of trust in the England striker.

Rashford has not started for United since the opening day of the season against Leicester, with Mourinho preferring Romelu Lukaku up front, but the 20-year-old featured twice for England during the international break.

He scored the winner for England against Switzerland on Tuesday night just three days after he scored the opening goal in the UEFA Nations League defeat by Spain.

Thompson thinks Rashford will have to make a big decision about his future next summer if his lack of action continues at Old Trafford.

"Marcus Rashford is a very talented boy," the Soccer Saturday pundit told Sky Sports News. "Is he going to fit in at Manchester United? I don't think so.

"I don't think there is trust from the manager to the player that he can do it on a regular basis. That is why he is only coming into the team now and again.

"He is only 20 years old and he probably needs a little more time, but I think this season is a big season for him. Come the end of the season he then has to make the decision.

"He's got to start playing regularly."

Rashford has featured in every position across the front three in his short United career so far and Thompson thinks Mourinho's lack of trust in the forward stems from him not knowing what his best position is.

Thompson added: "He has to analyse his game time this year but when you look at a manager to player relationship, I don't think there is total trust from the manager of whether he's a centre-forward, a left-sided player or a right-sided one.

"The big question will come down to Marcus. Not in January but next summer big questions will have to be asked."

Jerome Boateng explained the reason why he didn't join Manchester United

Jerome Boateng called Jose Mourinho as the Bayern Munich defender rejected the overtures of Manchester United as well as Paris St Germain over the summer.

The Red Devils boss had been desperate to reinforce his backline in the transfer window, with the 30-year-old among the players targeted.

Press Association Sport understands United had been keen to bring Boateng on loan rather than the permanent deal Bayern Munich had been looking for.

The Old Trafford giants had misgivings over his fitness, but the Germany international nipped any interest in the bud during a conversation with Mourinho.

"I had enquiries from Paris St Germain and Manchester United, and I considered them," he told Bild.

"Not because I wanted to leave Bayern Munich by all means. It was no escape, but rather the thrill of a new challenge.

"I feel completely content at Bayern, one of the biggest clubs in the world."

He added: "I phoned Jose Mourinho and told him that his interest honoured me and thanked him that he put his back into United for me.

"I explained to him my reasons for not joining.

"It's difficult to leave FC Bayern. Everything has to fall in place to top this club, if I do it."

Zinedine Zidane wants to bring this four stars to Manchester United

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been linked with the Manchester United job to replace Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The reason behind Zidane being linked with Manchester united is due to the poor start in the current season.

The Red Devils started the season with a 2-1 win over Leicester City, But they would then lose 3-2 to Brighton and get smashed 3-0 by Tottenham.

Manchester United did win their last game vs Burnley 2-0, but despite this, Zidane is still being rumoured to be taking over from Mourinho.

Zidane's top players targets for Manchester United :

According to The Mirror, Zidane has even drawn up a list of players he would want to sign should he succeed Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The first name on Zidane’s list is said to be German and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos who Zidane will know very well from his time as Real Madrid manager.

The Frenchman is also said to want both Thiago Alcántara and James Rodriguez, However, given Rodriguez went to Bayern Munich while Zidane was in charge at Real Madrid, the Colombian may not be so keen to reunite with his former boss.

Moreover, Zidane is also said to want to bring Uruguay and PSG forward Edinson Cavani to Old Trafford.

Cavani has been at PSG for some time now and has racked up 248 appearances for the French outfit, In those games, Cavani has scored an impressive 172 goals and assisted 31.

Eric Cantona wants this manager to replace Jose Mourinho

Eric Cantona says Jose Mourinho is not the right man for Manchester United and would much better have Pep Guardiola, or himself, as Man united new manager.

United have a balanced start to the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, with six points from their first four games and defeats against Tottenham and Brighton.

That has seen Mourinho placed among the favourites in the betting market for the next top-flight manager to be sacked despite last season's run to second in the table, albeit a healthy distance behind rivals Manchester City.

And Cantona believes the man who guided City to their runaway 2017-18 title would have been a much better appointment for United than Mourinho, whose style of play he is also critical of.

"I like Mourinho. He has a good personality but not for United - they should have Pep Guardiola as coach," Cantona said in an exclusive interview with the Mail on Sunday.

"He should be there, but he is doing magic with that other club. The club I cannot name.

"It is early in the season... too early to tell. Manchester United is a great club and will always be great.

"They will win things, I know they will. But the way they play? Not good. The manager has them playing the wrong way for the fans. No fun, no creativity."

Cantona received a hero's welcome at Old Trafford in June when he played in the Soccer Aid charity match, and he said there would be no chance of defensive football if he was ever asked to take charge of United.

"I would like to coach and if they called me I would go. I would enjoy it. They know where I am. Then we would play creative football again," he added.

"It would be great for the fans, like it was with Alex Ferguson - he allowed players to be creative, treated them as individuals. All felt loved. He was always praising. A good man, a good leader."

Luke Shaw was considered quitting Football forever after leg break

Luke Shaw was close to lose his right leg
Luke Shaw was close to lose his right leg

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has revealed he came close to losing his right leg after it was seriously broken in September 2015 and admitted he considered quitting football altogether.

Shaw has started four consecutive Premier League matches for United this season - something he had not achieved since his horrific leg-break suffered playing PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League three years ago.

Since his rehabilitation, Shaw has struggled for first-team football under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, often facing public criticism from the United manager.

When asked about his recovery, Shaw said: "I'd be lying if I said I didn't sometimes think about stopping playing football, but I had a lot of good friends and family around me and they helped me through it.

"I nearly lost my leg, I was actually really close to losing my leg and I never knew that until six months after when the doctor told me. Of course, if I knew that I would [still] never have stopped, even if he had told me there was a worry, I would have tried [to carry on playing football].

"I want to be playing football, I want to be playing in the biggest games possible, winning trophies - that's my motivation, and like I said I want to be known as one of the best full-backs in the world."

On being told he could have nearly lost his leg, Shaw explained: "At the time, they were thinking about flying me back (from Eindhoven) and if I'd have flown back, I would probably have lost my leg because of the blood clots and stuff in the leg.

"I've got - I don't want to talk about it too much - two scars down the side of my leg where they had to cut it open and pull them out because of how severe it was.

"But I don't really care about that anymore. I feel really strong - and my right leg is exactly as it was before my leg break."

Following his return to form and United's starting XI, Shaw has earned a recall to the England squad from Gareth Southgate, displacing his team-mate Ashley Young who was a mainstay during the World Cup.

Juventus still want to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United

According to European Paper, Juventus are still hopeful to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Marial on a pre-contract in January.

The french player has not yet been able to earn Jose Mourinho's trust this season and has been struggling to play in regular time all the previous 4 games in premier league this season.

The 22-years-old winger was linked with an exit from Old Trafford with numerous clubs emerging as the potential suitors. Clubs including FC Barcelona were linked and it seemed like he would leave the Manchester-based club this summer.

Now, according to CalcioMercato latest reports, Juventus are still interested in signing this French winger. Earlier, it was reported that Juventus had an eye on Martial. But CalcioMercato’s latest confirms they are still interested.

However, Ed Woodward considers Anthony Martial as highly talented and believes he has what it takes to succeed at the Old Trafford. While Ed Woodward’s decision [reportedly] to table an improved contract hints at Manchester United’s plans to sack Mourinho and bring in Zidane [rumoured] as the coach of the club, it would also help United thwart Juventus’ attempts to sign Martial, as the new contract would see the Frenchman earning 9 million Euros a year.

However, it remains to be seen if Anthony Martial would agree on terms with Manchester United hierarchy when he is unsure about what future holds for their current coach Jose Mourinho, who reportedly has the backing of the club to perform better in the coming weeks.
